Team Liquid ends SabeRLighT's one-year contract

After losing at The International 2025 (TI 2025), Dota 2 powerhouse Team Liquid announced that they would remove position three player SabeRLighT- from the main lineup, ending their one-year collaboration.

SabeRLighT joined Team Liquid last September, replacing 33, who left for Tundra Esports. While he won four tournaments with the team, including PGL Wallachia Seasons 3 and 4, his overall performance fell far short of the expectations of the TI-winning team.

Team Liquid has experienced ups and downs at various international tournaments, most notably finishing 9th-13th at The International 2025, their worst TI performance in team history. They barely advanced through the group stage with a 3-2 record, only to be eliminated in the knockout stage with a 1-2 defeat against veteran player 33's Tundra Esports.

While the team didn't specify the reason for the adjustment, the TI loss was clearly the primary trigger. Team Liquid stated in a statement: "SabeRLighT has demonstrated growth, commitment, and a positive attitude during his time with the team, and we will continue to support his future development."

SabeRLighT later posted a farewell message on his personal social platform: "I won two LAN championships and five top threes this year. I am proud of my time with Team Liquid. This experience has allowed me to grow tremendously both as a player and as a person."

At present, Team Liquid has not yet announced the replacement. Shortly after the news was released, another team AVULUS announced the signing of SabeRLighT.
