Sheep Esports Exclusive: Sentinels will replace 100T in the LCS next year

According to a report by Sheep Esports on Thursday, the North American esports team Sentinels will replace 100 Thieves (100T) in the LCS in 2026. Riot Games has approved the move, allowing the Sentinels to join the LCS without a franchise fee.

As for 100T, they will officially withdraw from the LCS after the end of the 2025 season. Sheep Esports further pointed out that 100T will then complete the rest of the season as a temporary guest team.

Sentinels was founded in 2016. Its predecessor, Phoenix1, competed in the LCS from 2016 to 2017. They officially changed their name to Sentinels in June 2018 and are headquartered in Los Angeles.

In recent years, Sentinels has achieved outstanding results in the VALORANT project, including winning two Grandmasters championships (2021 and 2024). They are also involved in various esports events such as Apex Legends, Marvel Confrontation, and Halo.

In June of this year, Sentinels publicly stated that they were evaluating the possibility of returning to the League of Legends arena. At that time, they were also studying plans to enter CS2, which is expected to be finalized in 2026 or 2027.
