In Chelsea's match against Manchester City, the team lost to their opponent with a score of 1-3. Reece James was very disappointed with the team's defeat.
Although Noni Madueke got his side off to the perfect start within three minutes, the opposition responded through Yosko Gvaldiol's goal and took control of the game after the half-time break, with goals from Erling Haaland and Phil Foden also securing the win.
Reece James was disappointed to miss the chance to take control of the game so early on. "It was disappointing not to score more goals, we had another chance early on after the goal and maybe things would have been different," he said.
"Goals make players, teams, win games and titles. When you don't score, it's difficult, especially against big teams."
Reece James admitted that the result was frustrating, but he believes the only way for the team to improve is to keep working hard. Chelsea will hope to recover from the defeat with a week of preparation and win against West Ham United.
Reece James said: "Even though the results haven't shown an advantage yet, we'll keep working hard. We'll do our best and hopefully the results will reflect our efforts. If you look at it, we've been together for less than a year and they've probably been together for about seven years, so they've been working with the manager and the team for longer."
"We are still working hard and hope everything goes well. We need to play one game at a time and see what results we will achieve at the end of the season."
