Eintracht Frankfurt announced on its official website on Sunday that the club has signed France U23s international forward wonderkid Elye Wahi from Marseille.
According to the Bundesliga powerhouse's official statement, Wahi has signed on a long-term five-and-a-half-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2030. At the same time, he will also wear the No. 17 jersey which was vacated by former captain Sebastian Rode after his retirement.
In addition, according to the news brought by The Athletic's resident renowned German transfer journalist Raphael Honigstein, Die Adler paid a total of €25 million to the Les Olympiens to sign Wahi. Wahi naturally became the replacement for Egypt international forward Omar Marmoush who had just transferred to Manchester City a few days ago.
After completing his joining procedures, Wahi, who was interviewed by Frankfurt's official website for the first time, said: "I am very happy to join Eintracht Frankfurt. This is a big club and I have heard a lot of positive comments about it. I immediately knew that I wanted to seize the opportunity to come here. I want to repay everyone's trust in me with outstanding performances and goals."
