Ex-Chicken Coop roster members sparked renewed controversy after being revealed by Dust 2 to be planning to return by forming a new team known as Phoenix..

Foreign media outlet Dust 2 exclusively reported on Wednesday that ex-roster members of the American Counter Strike 2 team Chicken Coop, which was previously disbanded after allegedly threatening to sexually assault female users online, plan to form a new team, Phoenix, with the remaining members of their original roster not implicated in the case, sparking renewed controversy.

According to the report, these former Chicken Coop members have been quietly competing under the Phoenix banner since October 9th, as well as deliberately emphasizing their identity as ex-Chicken Coop members.

In this new roster, reporters discovered that in addition to Gabe and mds, Phoenix also includes the young Ukrainian AWP-er H0NeST from Outfit 49.

H0NeST had replaced the American AWP-er jchancE, whpreviously accused of sexualizing women's breasts and threatening to sexually assault female users online.

Dust 2 also revealed that Gabe and mds had actually already competed under the Phoenix banner back in 2024, during which when they were expelled from Perseverance and banned from ESL Challenger League Season 48 for cheating.

However, while Gabe and mds's plan to form Phoenix with H0NeST appeared to be an attempt to distance themselves from Chicken Coop's disgraceful past, their decision still drew criticism from many netizens.

Many netizens believed that their eagerness to return so soon after being embroiled in a sexual assault scandal demonstrated that Gabe and mds had not truly taken precautions or reflected on their actions, and that their controversy would only further tarnish the image of the Counter Strike 2 professional esports scene.
