According to media reports, 19-year-old prodigy Peyz will join T1 in the 2025 season, succeeding three-time world champion Gumayusi.
This move not only symbolizes a major shift in T1's bot lane era, but also marks the official implementation of one of the most anticipated positional changes in the LCK. As the most promising new star nurtured by Gen.G, Peyz swept the Korean region at the age of 17 and 18, winning the LCK championship three times in a row, and was named LCK Rookie of the Year in 2023.
Peyz also shone on the international stage, setting a record of 28 kills in the second game of MSI 2024, a record that remains unbroken to this day. His explosiveness, mechanics, and extremely high skill ceiling have long made him regarded as the next legendary bot laner from Korea.
However, 2025 was not a smooth year for Peyz. Gen.G's decision to bring Ruler back in 2024 unexpectedly made Peyz a free agent. With the top teams' roster spots almost full, he went to the LPL to join JD Gaming, enduring a turbulent year.
Despite frequent changes in support players and coaches, Peyz has maintained consistent performance, but his results have consistently fallen short of expectations. His return to South Korea, and his immediate move to the six-time world champion T1, is considered the most crucial decision of his career.
T1 has just ended its successful seven-year partnership with Gumayusi, who left an irreplaceable legendary mark on the team's history. Now, with Gumayusi's departure, T1 will welcome a new bot lane duo of Peyz and Keria.
Industry insiders generally believe that the combination of Peyz and Keria will be a highly aggressive and entertaining "dream duo." Both are known for their creativity, laning dominance, and extremely high skill ceiling, and are considered the key forces most likely to push T1 back to the top of the world in a short period of time.
