European CS2 professional team HEROIC recently released a statement confirming that Linus Holten (ID: LNZ) has been relegated to the bench. According to a report by Sheep Esports last week, his position is expected to be filled by former OG in-game leader Christopher Stogold (ID: Chr1zN).
LNZ, 23, is from Sweden and previously served as the in-game leader for teams such as CeX, Wind and Rain, Chetz, Prima, Y.Ninjas, NIP, and Sangal. He joined HEROIC in January 2025 and has played 192 maps and completed 4161 rounds to date, with an average rating of only 0.93. His best achievements include reaching the quarterfinals with the team in the BLAST Spring Bounty Tournament, IEM Dallas, and the Esports World Cup.
In response to the demotion, LNZ posted on his personal social media: "It's time to end my journey with Heroic. It's been a very tough year, with many challenges coming one after another. I can proudly say that I have done my best to overcome these difficulties and strive to become a better captain and a better person. This year has given me many valuable experiences, making me more mature and allowing me to grow both inside and outside the game. These gains will accompany me throughout my future career."
"Thank you to all the players and coaches I've worked with, and especially to all the HEROIC fans who made this experience unforgettable. My determination to prove myself has never wavered. For the rest of this year, I will be looking for a new team to play for."
With LNZ relegated to the bench, HEROIC's current roster is as follows:
Rifleman: Linus Berriman (ID: nilo)
Rifleman: Simon Boyer (ID: yxngstxr)
Support: Yasin Kirk (ID: xfl0ud)
Head Coach: Tobias Theo (ID: TOBIZ)
Substitute: Linus Holten (ID: LNZ)
