BOOM Esports announces its withdrawal from the Dota 2 esports scene.

BOOM Esports, a well-known Indonesian esports organization, recently announced that the team will be withdrawing from the Dota 2 competitive scene after eight years of competition.

The decision was announced on December 8th via official social media platforms. BOOM wrote in a statement: "Today, we bid farewell to our Dota 2 division. This journey has been filled with passion, challenges, and unforgettable memories."

Since joining the Dota 2 scene in 2017, BOOM has been a significant symbol of the Southeast Asian region. The team initially consisted mainly of Indonesian players, but gradually expanded its roster, bringing in top talent from across the region.

2022 was BOOM's golden age. They won the GAMERS GALAXY championship in Dubai and Thailand, reached the top eight at the PGL Arlington Major, and qualified for The International (TI) for the first time. Although they ultimately finished 9th-12th, they were considered the most competitive Southeast Asian team in the world at the time.

However, BOOM failed to maintain this level of performance. Despite the team's continuous roster adjustments and even a brief move to the South American region in 2024 in search of a breakthrough, their results never showed significant improvement.

Over the past two seasons, BOOM assembled a star-studded roster and achieved some notable results, including a top-six finish at the 2024 PGL Wallachia Season 1. However, their overall performance remained inconsistent, especially in the new season when they suffered multiple defeats to Execration in regional qualifiers, which proved to be the final straw.

With the decision to withdraw finalized, BOOM has officially disbanded its current roster, and its four players, JaCkky, Armel, Jabz, and Jaunuel, will all become free agents. BOOM's departure adds another veteran club to the list of exiting the Dota 2 scene.

Despite leaving Dota 2, BOOM emphasized that their story in the esports industry will continue. The organization remains active in Arena of Valor, PUBG Mobile, and Valorant, and has pledged to embark on their next adventure in new territories.
