French Cup: Barkola scores as Paris Saint-Germain beat Le Mans 2-0

The 2024/25 French Cup round of 16 ushered in a focus match. The French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, who went to play away, defeated Le Mans 2-0 with goals from Douai and Barkola.

Five minutes into the match, Douai was brought down by Le Mans midfielder Gabin Bernardo when he received the ball and the referee showed Gabin Bernardo a yellow card. In the seventh minute, Le Mans got a free kick and Eyoum Moon shot at the goal, but the ball hit the side net.

In the 15th minute, Paris Saint-Germain attacked with a lob pass, Gonzalo Ramos tried to head the ball but failed to touch the ball. In the 80th minute, Kvaratskhelia dribbled into the penalty area and shot over the defense, but the ball went wide and could not cause any threat.

In the 90th minute, Le Mans counterattacked from the left, Gueye stepped forward and volleyed the ball, but Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Safonov immediately rushed out and saved the ball.

In the end, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Le Mans 2-0 away and successfully advanced to the French Cup quarterfinals.
