Daniel Falk: Our chances of avoiding relegation look promising; we are on the right track.

Leeds United, nicknamed "The Whites," will travel to Anfield to face Liverpool, nicknamed "The Reds," in the 19th round of the 2025/26 Premier League season. Daniel Falk stated that 20 points after 18 rounds is a positive result and that his team is on the right track.

In the last Premier League match, Leeds United came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against Sunderland away from home, thanks to a goal from Dominic Calvert-Lewin assisted by Brundon Allensen. After a run of three draws and two losses in their last five matches, Leeds United sit 16th in the table with 20 points.

For Liverpool, Sloth's team defeated Wolves 2-1 in the last round and are now in 4th place in the standings with 32 points.

Leeds United manager Daniel Falk said, "We don't really need to talk about their potential. They dominated the league, and their performance last season was something that almost no other team could match in recent years."

"Going to Anfield for a match on New Year's Day is one of the most challenging and difficult tasks the team can ever undertake, but we are eager to participate in such a competition. We hope to return to the top level, and now we are in that position, facing the challenge."

Looking back at the first leg of the season, Leeds United held Liverpool to a 3-3 draw in the final stages. Reflecting on that match, Daniel Falk said, "In that game, we had to be at our best and play at our highest level to create opportunities, and we did. It was a very tight game, and I think we deserved a point at home."

“We know we are in a good position. If we have 20 points after 18 rounds, that would be a very good result. We have also proven that newly promoted teams have a chance to establish themselves. We are on the right track, but we have not yet achieved our goal.”
