Crystal Palace signed Brennan Johnson for a record transfer fee.

Premier League club Crystal Palace officially announced today that they have successfully signed Welsh international Brennan Johnson from Tottenham Hotspur.

It is understood that the transfer fee reached £35 million, setting a new record for Crystal Palace. The 24-year-old attacker has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the team and will wear the number 11 jersey, a symbol of his starting position, in South London.

Johnson was instrumental in Nottingham Forest's promotion to the Premier League. His time at Tottenham Hotspur marked the peak of his career. Last season, he not only led the team with 18 goals and 7 assists, but also scored the winning goal in the Europa League final against Manchester United, helping his team lift the trophy.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner welcomed Brennan's arrival and praised the club's efficiency in signing new players: "I am delighted to have Brennan so early in the transfer window. His speed and scoring ability will add more variability to our attacking tactics, and he is a key piece in our puzzle to cope with the busy schedule."

After signing, Johnson said: "I have always admired Crystal Palace. Now is the perfect time to join this rising team, and I am super excited about the challenge ahead."

It is understood that Johnson is ready and could make his debut as early as this Sunday's away game against Newcastle United. With the addition of this strong reinforcement, Crystal Palace will demonstrate greater competitiveness in multiple competitions this season.
