Premier League – Sheshko scores twice as Manchester United are held to a 2-2 draw by Burnley.

The 21st round of the 2025/26 Premier League season continued. Manchester United, playing away, took the lead after an own goal by Sheshko, but conceded another goal later in the game and were eventually held to a 2-2 draw by newly promoted Burnley.

Seven minutes into the match, Manchester United created an attacking opportunity. Casemiro, near the edge of the penalty area, received a pass back from Cunha and unleashed a long-range shot, but the ball went wide of the goal. In the 9th minute, Sheskov passed the ball to Patrick Dogu, but Burnley goalkeeper Dubravka made the save.

In the 13th minute, Burnley midfielder Majibli received the ball and crossed it from the left wing. The ball was deflected by Manchester United defender Eden Haven and flew into the net, giving Burnley a 1-0 lead. In the 23rd minute, Manchester United attempted a counter-attack. Bruno Fernandes chipped the ball into the penalty area, and Sheskov headed it towards goal, but the ball was caught by Burnley goalkeeper Dubravka.

In the 28th minute, Manchester United's corner kick was cleared, and Lisandro fired a shot into the net amidst the scramble, but the referee ruled it invalid due to a previous foul. In the 27th minute, Manchester United launched a counter-attack from a free kick. Casemiro headed the ball across, and Cunha's header was cleared by a defender.

In the 32nd minute, Lucas Pires received a through pass from his teammate and fired a low shot from the penalty area, but it went wide. In the 40th minute, Patrick Dogu won possession and made another through pass. Sheskov received the ball and entered the penalty area, firing a low shot, but the shot was too weak and was easily caught by Burnley goalkeeper Dubravka.

Manchester United were ultimately held to a 2-2 draw by Burnley away from home. After three consecutive draws, United now sit 7th in the league table with 32 points.
