Vitality defeats FURIA to retain their IEM Krakow title

In the recently concluded IEM 2026 Krakow Grand Finals, Team Vitality defeated FURIA with a dominant score of 3:1, successfully defending their "Hall of Heroes" title.

This marks Team Vitality's second consecutive year lifting a top-level tournament trophy in Poland, following their victory in Katowice in 2025, and also avenges their defeat against FURIA in Chengdu.

The match was full of twists and turns. In the first map, Mirage, FURIA staged a stunning comeback, overcoming a 3-9 deficit to win 13-11. However, this did not break Vitality's spirit; instead, it became the catalyst for their resurgence.

The rest of the game completely fell into Vitality's rhythm. In Inferno, superstar ZywOo took over the game with an amazing rating of 2.22, leading his team to a 13-8 victory and leveling the series.

In the third map, Nuke, it became a one-sided crushing victory. Mezii, who had been in a slump, regained his form and, together with the rest of the team, crushed the opponent 13-2, taking the match point.

In the decisive map, Overpass, despite FURIA holding a 9-6 lead, Vitality displayed remarkable resilience, ultimately securing a 13-10 victory. ZywOo delivered historic performances in the finals with a 2.20 KDR and 101.0 ADR, once again demonstrating his dominance.

After the match, Vitality captain apEX couldn't hide his excitement: "ZywOo proved that he is the best in the world, and this amazing team is making history."

With this victory, Vitality now holds three ESL Season 6 Grand Slam points. External assessments suggest that this roster's dominance even surpasses that of Astralis at their peak, and they are steadily climbing towards the throne of the greatest CS 2 team in history.
