Sacramento signs 2017 No. 1 draft pick Markelle Fultz

Sacramento has officially signed 2017 NBA Draft No. 1 pick Markelle Fultz to fill the void left by De'Aaron Fox.

Since Fox was sent to the San Antonio Spurs, the Sacramento Kings have been looking for a point guard with experience and ability. The addition of Fultz will bring new possibilities to the Sacramento Kings and help the team remain competitive in the fiercely competitive Western Conference.

The 26-year-old Fultz was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2017. However, his NBA career did not start well because a rare arm injury seriously affected his shooting ability. His performance with the Philadelphia 76ers was questioned and was once considered one of the key reasons for "destroying Philadelphia's reconstruction plan (The Process)".

Despite this, Fultz has shown tenacious resilience in his career. In 2021, Fultz was sidelined for nearly 14 months due to a torn ACL in his left knee. After returning to the court, he gradually regained his form with the Orlando Magic. In four of Fultz 's five seasons with the Orlando Magic, he averaged double-digit points per game, showing his potential in scoring and organization.

So far, Fultz has played 234 games in his NBA career, averaging 11.1 points, 4.6 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game. In the 2023-24 season, he played for the Orlando Magic, played 43 games, averaging 7.8 points, 2.8 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game. Although the data is not eye-catching, Fultz is still considered a player with potential and talent.

Currently, the Sacramento Kings are ranked ninth in the NBA Western Conference with a record of 28 wins and 26 losses, and are working hard to enter the playoffs. The arrival of Fultz not only provides the team with rich game experience, but also adds more options and tactical flexibility to the Sacramento Kings' backcourt.
