Como announced on its official website on Tuesday that the club has signed young Spain U21s international winger Assane Diao from Real Betis.
According to the newly promoted Serie A club's official statement, Diao has signed on a long-term four-and-a-half-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2029.
About Assane Diao
Assane Diao, who is only 19 years old, was born in Ndangane, Senegal on September 7, 2005. He is 1.85 meters tall and primarily plays as a right winger. He can also play as a left winger or center forward. He has dual citizenship of Senegal and Spain.
Diao played for the Badajoz youth academy when he was a child. He joined the Real Betis youth academy in 2021 and completed his Real Betis first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in the UEFA Europa League match against Rangers in September 2023.
Since becoming a member of Los Verdiblancos, Diao has played 47 times for the La Liga powerhouse in all competitions, scoring 6 goals and providing 3 assists.
