Huerzeller takes responsibility for the team's defeat

Brighton manager Fabian Huerzel took the blame for the defeat after losing to Nottingham Forest on penalties.

After the two sides drew 0-0 in 90 minutes at the American Express Stadium and failed to change the score in extra time, the game entered a brutal penalty shootout. Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Mats Sells performed bravely, saving the penalties of Jack Hinshelwood and Diego Gomez, helping the team eliminate Brighton 4-3.

After the game, Huerzeller admitted: "I take responsibility for this defeat. The opponent has an excellent goalkeeper, and we ultimately failed to win the game."

Huerzeller summed up the performance of the game and said: "In regular time, we didn't do enough and didn't deserve to win. But in overtime, we played at the level we should have and created several excellent opportunities, but unfortunately we still failed to seize them."

Although the team was eliminated in the penalty shootout, Huerzeller still emphasized the importance of team spirit: "The most important thing now is to respond. We can lose today and tomorrow, but then we have to pick ourselves up again, show our cohesion and prove that we are a team that can unite as one."
