Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing joins Napoli on loan with buyout clause

Napoli officially announced that Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing has completed his transfer on loan from today. His loan period in Napoli lasts until the end of this season, and the contract comes with a buyout clause of 9 million to 10 million euros.

Philip Billing also expressed his feelings after joining the team through social media, "I am honored to come to Naples. I will do my best to help the team and this historic club succeed."

"Can't wait to see you all tomorrow, let's get to work!"

Philip Billing, 28, was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, and started his career at English League One club Huddersfield in 2014. He moved to Bournemouth for 16.5 million euros in 2019, and has made 201 appearances, scored 31 goals and provided 20 assists. However, Billing's appearances at Bournemouth this season have dropped sharply to 10, with only one start.

For Napoli, the 1.93-meter-tall Bilin perfectly fits coach Antonio Conte's needs for midfield. Not only does he have outstanding physical fitness, he can also play multiple positions such as central midfielder, defensive midfielder, and attacking midfielder. He is a typical representative of a versatile midfielder.

Billing's arrival was also seen as filling the vacancy left by the departure of Michael Florenzo, who joined Fiorentina on a loan-plus-permanent deal on the same day he arrived in Naples.
