Ancelotti sad and disappointed by Spanish Super Cup defeat

In the final of the Spanish Super Cup, Real Madrid lost 2-5 to Barcelona and missed the championship. Coach Ancelotti admitted that he was sad and disappointed with the result.

Barcelona dominated the game and Ancelotti admitted that Real Madrid's defense was not good enough. In the post-match press conference, Ancelotti said: "We have to face the reality that we did not defend well in the opponent's half and in the low block."

"They scored a lot of goals easily and we didn't play well individually or collectively because we lost a lot of duels. We feel sad and disappointed and we will go home with this emotion. This is football."

"Our sadness is also the sadness of our fans, but we have no choice but to move on and rediscover the good atmosphere that existed in the team before. We didn't play well from the beginning to the end of the game."

"Even though we had an extra player, we didn't find a solution. I'm sad about the whole performance and apart from the performance of Mbappe, who scored a great goal in a beautiful attack, I will forget about the rest and move on."

"I'm not going to name anybody. It was a collective problem where we didn't defend well enough at the back and in midfield. The team wasn't compact during the game and we have to improve defensively again."

Real Madrid's next game will be on January 17, when they host Celta Vigo in the Spanish Cup group stage. After that, Real Madrid will have La Liga and Champions League games. I hope they can learn from this defeat and recover to cope with the next games.
