Espanyol announced on its official website on Tuesday that Braga's Spanish forward Roberto Fernandez has joined the club on-loan.
According to the La Liga club's official statement, Roberto will play for the club on-loan until the end of this season, and the loan agreement includes a buyout clause.
About Roberto Fernandez
Roberto Fernandez, only 22 years old, was born on July 3, 2002 in Puente Genil, Spain. He is 1.83 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward. He can also play as a left winger or right winger.
Roberto played for the Puente Genil, Cordoba and Sevilla youth academies when he was a child. He joined the Malaga youth academy in 2018 and completed his Malaga first-team debut in August 2021.
In the summer of 2022, Roberto was loaned-out to Barcelona, mainly playing for its B team.
After returning to the club following the end of his loan spell the following summer, Roberto officially became the Malaga first-team's undisputed first choice forward. During this spell, he was also regarded as one of the best wonderkids in Spanish football with his high goalscoring efficiency.
In July 2024, Roberto joined Braga for €1.8 million.
During the first half of the season, Roberto played 30 times for the Portuguese Primeira Liga club in all competitions, scoring 2 goals and assisting 1 time.
