Chris Richards: We have a clear goal, we just want to play for each other

In the match between Crystal Palace and Leicester City, Crystal Palace successfully defeated the opponent with a score of 2-0, creating the club's record of 6 unbeaten away games in the Premier League. Chris Richards praised the overall strength of the team.

Crystal Palace's lacklustre first-half display set the stage for a stellar second-half display, with Jean-Philippe Mateta and Marc Guehi scoring to seal the three points and lift Palace up to 14th place in the table.

Chris Richards said that after a week in which the team suffered several players missing due to illness, the team was still able to achieve such a result, which was enough to prove the strength of the team. Chris Richards said: "Yes, we have had several players sick in the past few weeks, but this is not an excuse. We are a determined team and we all just want to play for each other."

‘We want to make sure we get some points, whether it’s home or away. We were disappointed with ourselves at the end of the first half, but I look at the positives, it was probably one of the worst halves we’ve played this season so we can only go up from there.’

"It was still a bit slow at the start of the second half but we eventually got a goal and then changed the whole momentum. I thought the forwards played really well and of course Marc Guehi, who finished the game, was really impressive."

In addition, Chris Richards also discussed defender Trevoh Chalobah, who returned to Chelsea after being loaned to Crystal Palace at the beginning of the season.

Chris Richards said: "I think throughout the season we have had great players and even better people and Trevoh Chalobah is one of those who has helped to drive the team we are now. Trevoh Chalobah will be missed but life must go on without him so now is the time for everyone in the team to take the next step."
