A week after announcing the disbandment of its original Dota 2 roster, esports giant OG has officially returned and made a major strategic adjustment, signing the Filipino team Team Aureus to start afresh with a completely new all-Filipino roster.
Over the past year, OG struggled in international tournaments and qualifiers. Even the return of TI two-time champion N0tail couldn't reverse their poor performance in the 2025 season. Under pressure to achieve results, the team opted for a rebuild, ultimately choosing Southeast Asia as their new starting point.
OG announced the acquisition on social media, officially welcoming Team Aureus as part of their new core roster. The new lineup consists of five Filipino players who have recently performed exceptionally well in the Southeast Asian region. Now donning the OG jersey, they shoulder the mission of reviving the team.
OG veteran Ceb also expressed his anticipation on social media: "If the Southeast Asian region is about to win its championship, I believe it will be brought by OG. The Southeast Asian region has always felt like home, and we thank our fans for their continued support."
The new OG roster is as follows:
·Natsumi-
·Yopaj
·Force/Nikko
TIMS
·skem
·343 (Coach)
The new OG roster will face its first major test: the PGL Wallachia S6 tournament, which kicks off on November 15th. After months of turmoil and continuous adjustments to its performance and roster, this acquisition is seen as a crucial step in the team's rebuilding and OG's most significant transformation attempt in recent years.
