Barcelona completes contract extension with midfield wonderkid Pedri..

Barcelona announced on its official website on Thursday that the club has renewed the contract of its Spain international center midfielder wonderkid Pedri.

According to Barça's official statement, Pedri has signed on a new long-term five-and-a-half-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2030. According to La Liga's regulations, Pedri's release clause will also rise to €1.16 billion.

About Pedri

Pedri, who is only 22 years old, was born in Tenerife, Spain on November 25, 2022. He is 1.74 meters tall and primarily plays as a center midfielder. He can als play as an attacking midfielder.

Pedri joined the youth academy of non-league club Tegueste since he was a child. In 2015, he joined the Juventud Laguna youth academy. Three years later, he joined the Las Palmas youth academy and completed his Las Palmas first-team debut in August 2019. He was only 16 years old at the time.

In July 2020, Pedri moved to Barcelona for €5 million.

Since becoming a member of the Blaugrana, Pedri has played 175 times for Barça in all competitions so far, scoring 24 goals and assisting 17 times. During  which he has won the La Liga once, the Copa Del Rey once and the Supercopa de España twice with the club.
