League of Legends: TES star ADC player Jackeylove officially announce break to recover from an illness..

Yu Wenbo (ID: Jackeylove), the star ADC player for the League of Legends division of the Shanghai esports club Top Esports (TES), announced during a live stream on Tuesday that he will be taking a break to recover from an illness.

During the stream, Jackeylove stated that he has unfortunately contracted an ear condition illness, resulting in hearing loss and persistent tinnitus. Doctor have warned him of the serious consequence of potential deafness, requiring him to undergo immediate and systematic treatment. Therefore, he has ultimately decided to follow his doctor's advice and take a complete break to recover, hoping to return to the team in good health.

After discussions with TES manager Guo Hao (Hao Ge), both parties agreed that health would be the priority. This break will cause him to miss most or all of the Split 1 of the 2026 LPL season.

Jackeylove also added that he has not yet set a fixed timetable for his return. His return will proceed in three steps: completing his current treatment, fulfilling his existing commercial activities' contracts, and assessing the timing of his return based on his physical condition.

While industry insiders speculate that the second or third season might be a potential window for his return, this entirely depends on the progress of Jackeylove's treatment.

To demonstrate the club's trust in him, TES has renewed Jackeylove's contract.

During Jackeylove's absence, Zi Jiaqi (ID: JiaQi), an ADC player from TES's Academy, will fill his starting position.

Support player Wang Runlai (ID: Fengyue) will fill in the bot lane, partnering with JiaQi.

Lin Jian (ID: Creme) will continue in the mid lane.

Yang Zijian (ID: Naiyou), who recently joined from Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP), will become the new starting jungler.

Bai Jiahao (ID: 369) will be responsible for the top lane.

Since winning the League of Legends Worlds Championship in 2018, Jackeylove has repeatedly experienced the disappointment of narrowly missing out on winning the title.

Since leaving Invictus Gaming (iG), Jackeylove has not won a championship since 2022.

Despite being named the LPL Split 3 Regular Season MVP, Jackeylove had to endure two consecutive years of disappointment at losing to T1.

In this year's Worlds semifinals, TES suffered a crushing 0-3 defeat to the LCK powerhouse, once again missing out on the championship.
