European CS2 professional team BC.Game released a statement on Monday confirming that 39-year-old Viktor Wojtas (ID: TaZ) has officially taken over as head coach. After being out of work for more than half a year, TaZ has finally found a new home.
As one of Poland's greatest CS players, TaZ won 11 major championships for Virtus.pro during his more than 30-year professional career. He announced his retirement in March 2023 and was appointed as the coach of G2 in December of the same year.
During his time coaching G2, TaZ led the team to 271 maps, achieving a record of 164 wins and 107 losses, and winning the 2024 IEM Dallas, the 2024 BLAST Premier Fall Finals, and the 2024 BLAST Premier World Finals.
This appointment is seen as a crucial part of BCG's roster restructuring. Prior to TaZ's arrival, BCG had already purged several players, retaining only two superstars: Oleksandr Kostlelev (ID: s1mple) and Denis Sharipov (ID: electroNic). They subsequently signed the core trio of SAW players: Christopher Fernandez (ID: MUTiRiS), Adonis Nobre (ID: krazy), and Antonio Barbosa (ID: aragornN).
With VRS points inherited from SAW, the reorganized BCG has secured its place in the first stage of IEM Krakow. The current BCG roster is as follows:
Rifleman/Sniper: Oleksandr Kostrov (ID: s1mple)
Breakthrough player: Denis Sharipov (ID: electroNic)
Commander/Rifleman: Christopher Fernandez (ID: MUTiRiS)
Rifleman: Adonis Nobre (ID: krazy)
Rifleman: Antonio Barbosa (ID: aragornN)
Coach: Victor Wojtas (ID: TaZ)
