VP has reinstated mir as their in-game leader, after a two-year hiatus from competitive play.

Russian CS2 team Virtus.pro announced on Friday that Nikolai Bityekov (ID: mir) has been reinstated to the starting lineup. He will fill the vacancy left by Ilya Zalutsky (ID: Perfecto) and once again assume the role of in-game leader.

The 30-year-old mir has played for several CS teams, including Vega Squadron, Arcade, ANOX, ALLIN, Gambit, Spirit, and Entropiq. His most notable achievement was reaching the Legends stage of the 2018 ELEAGUE Boston Major with his team. Since joining VP in 2023, he has played on 162 maps, participated in 3796 rounds, and has an average rating of 1.05. He also won the ESL Atlanta Challenge with his team.

This reinstatement by VP marks mir's official return to the top tier of competition after two years. Since being relegated to the bench by VP in April 2024, mir had not had a chance to play.

For VP, bringing in mir was a significant adjustment made under pressure to achieve good results. Before recalling mir, they had made sweeping changes to their roster after a five-game losing streak at the start of the season, and had Perfecto, FL1T, and Fame on the transfer list.

Following a series of personnel adjustments, VP's current roster is as follows:

Commander: Nikolai Bityekov (ID: mir)

Sniper: Vladimir Krasikov (ID: b1st)

Rifleman: Vadim Alkov (ID: tO0RO)

Coach: Dmitry Martynov (ID: ProbLeM)
