Official: EWCF and Tencent Esports have reached a strategic partnership

On February 16, local time, the E-Sports World Cup (EWC) organizer, the E-Sports World Cup Foundation (EWCF), and Tencent E-Sports officially reached a strategic cooperation. As the EWCF China strategic partner, Tencent E-Sports will rely on its own resources and professional experience to help EWC deepen its presence in the Chinese market and promote the integration of Chinese e-sports into the EWC global system.

The agreement was officially signed at the "Global Esports Win-Win Exchange Plan·Event Technology and Preparation Special Sharing Conference" held at the Shenzhen Sea World Culture and Art Center in China on February 16. This cooperation with Tencent marks an important milestone in the EWC's global esports integration process. They regard China as the world's most important and fast-growing esports market. With Tencent's support in marketing, strategic consulting and event operations, EWC will be able to more effectively reach China's huge esports user base, thereby enhancing its influence in the Chinese market.

After the signing, Tamer Al Shuaibi, Chief of Staff of EWCF, said: "The purpose of the EWC is to create a global platform for e-sports and game enthusiasts around the world, and investing in key growth markets for the e-sports industry is a core pillar of our mission. China plays a vital role in the global vision of the EWC, and Tencent's leadership in games and e-sports makes it one of our indispensable partners."

“Through our cooperation with Tencent Esports, we will continue to promote the development of the esports industry, provide new opportunities for Chinese players and clubs, and present the best content of the EWC event to Chinese esports users.”

Hou Miao, Vice President of Tencent Games and General Manager of Esports, added: “EWC has established a global stage for competitive gaming, showcasing its influence in China and around the world. Through this partnership, we are committed to enhancing the influence of EWC in China and integrating our esports industry with the world’s largest competitive gaming event. We look forward to deepening our cooperation with EWCF and jointly promoting the development of the esports industry around the world.”

EWC is an e-sports event held by Saudi Arabia from July 3 to August 24, 2024, with huge investment. It covers 22 events including "Dota 2", "League of Legends", "Counter-Strike 2", "Honor of Kings", "StarCraft 2", "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds", etc. The second EWC is expected to return to Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, this summer, and the "Valorant" event will be added.
