Enzo Maresca confirms Trevoh Chalobah will not play against Southampton

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Trevoh Chalobah will not be in action against Southampton and that he believes it will be a very difficult game.  

Trevoh Chalobah left the match against Aston Villa early due to an upper body injury. After evaluation, Enzo Maresca said that Trevoh Chalobah will not play against Southampton. Enzo Maresca hopes that Trevoh Chalobah will be back in the next game against Copenhagen.  

Enzo Maresca said at the pre-match press conference: "Trevo Chalobah has been examined and he will rest for about a week to ten days. Fortunately, it is not a serious injury, which is a good thing for the team and Trevo Chalobah. But at the same time, I feel very sorry because the team has lost an important player."  

"Trevo Chalobah will not play against Southampton but we will see how he performs in the next game."  

Enzo Maresca says the team needs to take the game seriously and not focus on Southampton's position in the table. Enzo Maresca expects it to be a difficult game as Southampton will be looking to pick up points as they battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League.  

Enzo Maresca said: "From now on, every game and every team will fight for the same goal. I really think the game against Southampton will be difficult, but this is football. I believe that every game will be a tricky game, so we need to focus all our attention on the game and try to win it."  

"Our priority is to be ready for every game and try to win. We have 12 games to play from now on, and they are all very important for us."
