German Cup-Leverkusen was reversed by Bielefeld 1-2 and missed the final

In the 2024/25 German Cup semi-finals, Bayer Leverkusen challenged Bielefeld, which is currently ranked fourth in the German third division. They once took the lead, but were eventually reversed by Bielefeld 2-1.

Bielefeld reached the German Cup final for the first time in team history after defeating the defending champions.

First Half

Leverkusen got a corner kick just 3 minutes into the game, but Jonathan Tah's header went just over the bar. In the 17th minute, Grimaldo took another corner kick from the left, and Adli headed in an assist for Jonathan Tah to score the first goal.

However, Leverkusen's lead lasted only three minutes: in the 20th minute, Opi's cross from the left caused chaos in the penalty area, and Weir took the opportunity to volley and score to quickly equalize the score.
