Swiss League of Legends club Team BDS announced on Saturday through its official X (Twitter) account that the team has signed top laner Rooster from Korean LCK powerhouse Hanhwa Life Esport (HLE).
According to Team BDS' official statement, Rooster will make his debut with the team in the LEC Summer Split in August.
Rooster will also be the second player to join Team BDS in the near future after French-Arab jungler Boukada.
It is worth mentioning that as early as mid-June, foreign media Sheep Esports had already revealed that Team BDS was interested in signing a Korean foreign player.
About Rooster
Rooster, who is only 20 years old and whose real name is Shin Yun-hwan, was born in South Korea on April 28, 2005. He mainly plays as a top laner and can also play as a mid laner.
Rooster joined HLE's Academy in 2021 and has since become a professional League of Legends e-sports player.
In February of the following year, Rooster was promoted to the Hanhwa Life Esport (HLE) Challenger team and became a representative player of the Korean national team in 2023.
As a member of the HLE Challenger team, Rooster has reached the LCK Challenger League semi-finals 4 times with the team in 3 years, and helped South Korea defeat the Chinese national team to win the 2023 East Asian Esports Championship.
