Real Madrid advance to the Copa del Rey; Ancelotti criticises team's mistakes

Real Madrid beat Celta Vigo 5-2 in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey to advance to the quarterfinals, but coach Carlo Ancelotti criticised the team's mistakes.

Real Madrid led 2-0 in the match, but Celta Vigo equalized the score at the end of the game. However, in extra time, Enderique's double and Federico Valverde's goal ensured Real Madrid's advancement.

At the press conference after the game, Ancelotti said about the team's performance: "The tension decreased at the end of the game. We made two mistakes and let the opponent get back into the game. The game that was almost over became suspenseful because of these two mistakes."

"We conceded two goals almost at the end of the game. First we made a mistake in the serve and then in the second goal we lost the ball due to poor defensive position. We had played very well in the 70 minutes before that."

"Obviously, these two goals shouldn't have happened and gave the opponent the chance to get back into the game. We have to work hard in training to avoid these mistakes and not slow down in the final stages of the game."

With Real Madrid's promotion, the list of the top eight of the Spanish King's Cup has been released, including Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Getafe, Leganes, Valencia, Osasuna and Real Sociedad. They will draw lots next week and compete for a place in the semi-finals.
