Spirit academy player s1zzi has joined B8 on loan, confirmed to replace segukawa as their sniper.

Ukrainian CS2 team B8 announced on Sunday that they have loaned Spirit academy player Daniel Vinik (ID: s1zzi). He will replace Maikhailo-Nazari Bibel (ID: segukawa) in the upcoming PGL Cluj-Napoca tournament, while segukawa has already confirmed his return to the academy team.

Sixteen-year-old Segukawa, the same age as s1zzi, was promoted to the main roster by B8 in January. B8 made this move to fill the vacancy left by the demotion of sniper Daniel Valitov (ID: headtr1ck), but Segukawa only recorded an average personal rating of 0.70 in the recently concluded IEM Krakow.

Was Segukawa's replacement by s1zzi related to his poor performance? B8 CEO Vladislav Svestov (ID: arch) denied this via Telegram. He stated clearly: "The decision not to participate in subsequent events was made long before the training camp and the start of the competition."

"It is necessary to clarify this point, because people may think that this decision was made after his poor performance at IEM Krakow. That is not the case."
