Former AC Milan winger Samu Castillejo joins Malaysia Super League defending champions Johor Darul Ta'zim on a free transfer..

Johor Darul Ta'zim announced on its official website on Thursday that former AC Milan Spanish winger Samu Castillejo has joined the club as a free agent after terminating his contract with Valencia.

According to the Malaysia Super League defending champions' official statement, Castillejo has signed on a short-term one-year deal with the club which will only run until the summer of 2026.

Since the player registration period for the Malaysian Super League and the Asian Champions League Elite has already passed, Castillejo must wait until July 1 to be officially registered as a new player of the Southern Tigers.

It is worth mentioning that Castillejo is the third most famous player to join Johor Darul Ta'zim from clubs from the Europe Big 5 leagues in recent years, following former Real Madrid Spain international striker Jese Rodriguez and former Swansea City Indonesia naturalized international defender Jordi Amat.
